Project APOYO offers
a comprehensive array of services and provides monitoring, supervision
and support six days per week to young Latino offenders who reside
in the Greater New Haven Area. The program is successful because it is
designed to be culturally and linguistically specific. Some of the services
we provide include:
Continuing education
(ABE/GED) provided on-site by a certified teacher.
Substance abuse education and awareness; referrals for evaluation and treatment.
Anger management and other evidence-based/process groups, such as parenthood and goal-setting.
Mental health services and referrals for youth and their families.
Comprehensive case management.
Employment and vocational assistance.
Development of basic life skills.
Supervised community service.
Electronic monitoring.
Structured recreational, cultural and social activities.
Follow-up services
after completion of the program.
