How
long will the search take?
As each case is individual, it is difficult to assess how long a search
will take. Search time varies, but you can expect a search to last two
to three months.

Why
is there a fee for the search?
Fees are charged for all professional services provided by the agency,
including searches. Searches often involve time reading through a file,
notating important information, time spent on the internet, telephone,
and writing letters. Marriage licenses and death certificates are often
obtained from various vital record offices. Once the party has been located,
there is normally phone contact between the parties and the confidential
intermediary. Reunions are often held in our offices.

If my birthparent/birthchild refuses to participate in the reunion
process, will my money be refunded?
The agency has no control over whether a search will result in a reunion.
For a variety of reasons, many parties choose not to participate in the
reunion process. If a reunion does not take place, the search fee will
not be refunded.

If
my birthparent/birthchild refuses to have a reunion, will you call or
write them again requesting that they reconsider their position?
Once we receive either a verbal refusal or no answer to a letter, we do
not contact the party again. All of those who are contacted regarding
a potential reunion are of legal age and have the right to make their
own decision. The agency will not attempt to coerce anyone into changing
his or her position.
