Program Description
Family Center is an initiative of Brighter Futures and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. We are serving individuals, families and children living in Hartford. Educational classes and programs are designed for the benefit of our families to involve parents to participate actively in the physical and educational development of their children. We provide a healthy, supportive and safe environment during the early years of childhood.

Child Daycare Services & School Readiness
Daytime care for preschool children is provided in our licensed day care facility. The program includes nutritional meals and snacks, and learning opportunities for the children that emphasize school readiness and development skills. The program provides full day childcare for Hartford three and four year old children.

Primary Services
English as a Second language (ESL) class, classes to obtain an Equivalency High School Diploma (GED) in Spanish, Family Literacy (Rincon Familiar), School Readiness, Day Care and Advocacy.

Goal of the Agency
Improve the school readiness of children that reside in the City of Hartford. Also strengthen and foster family relationships and advocate for the families, improved services and other institutional support.

Eligibility
The programs and services of the Family Center are open to all regardless of religion, race, income or marital status. School Readiness serves 3 and 4 year old children living in Hartford.

Method of Payment
All services are free of charge with the exception of Day Care service that has a sliding scale fee based on income. CCAP also accepted.

Parent Education and Support
Provides: English as a Second Language (ESL), preparation for the Equivalency of High School Diploma (GED) in Spanish, Family Literacy and Transition to School Program. TV Violence prevention workshops to help parents develop skills on how to help their children watch less TV violence shows.
