Migration and Refugee Services
Frequently
asked questions
How
long have you been in operation?
Catholic Charities aided in the resettlement of Hungarians in the
1950's and responded to the large influx of "boat people" in the
late 1970's. In response to the large numbers of refugee groups
arriving in the United States from Asia and Eastern Europe, Catholic
Charities /Migration and Refugee Services became a separate program
in May of 1975.
