Pregnancy Counseling

What about adoption?

Adoption can be a healthy choice for some birthparents. Catholic Charities is a child-placing agency that has been helping to facilitate adoptions for over 80 years.

The Crisis Pregnancy/Adoption Program at Catholic Charities serves birthparents of ALL religions, races and ethic backgrounds.

If you choose to explore ADOPTION as an option, you will be provided with:

  • ENCOURAGEMENT in selecting and meeting adoptive parents.
  • INFORMATION that governs OPEN and IDENTIFIED adoptions.
  • OPPORTUNITY to receive pictures, letters, and updates after the placement of your child.
  • COUNSELING by experienced social workers that EMPOWERS you to maintain control over the placement of your child.
  • ASSISTANCE with housing and medical needs.

If adoption becomes your choice, each and every adoption plan becomes a very personalized collaboration between birthparents and adoptive parents. Both sets of parents have one goal in common: to provide a child with the loving, secure and permanent home she/he deserves.

It is important that a birthparent considering adoption receive COMPLETE AND CORRECT information on the emotional and legal processes that an adoption plan entails. Counseling by the adoption workers at Catholic Charities is done with empathy and neutrality. A counselor can help you to assess ALL your options without being pressured to choose one option over another.
