Children's Behavioral Health
The Children’s Behavioral Health
program provides Emergency
Mobile Psychiatric Services, Care
Coordination, Intensive In-Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services,
a Family Support Team, and Family
Substance Abuse Treatment.
Services include:

Crisis assistance
24hours/ 7 days a week
- Comprehensive assessment of the treatment needs
of the child and family
- Psychological and psychiatric evaluation
and services
- Development and implementation of a
comprehensive treatment plan
- Clinically informed case management and case coordination
- Individual and family therapy
- Crisis intervention and medication management
- Promotion of effective advocacy
- School consultation
- Smooth transitions to adult service systems are
facilitated
- Services are sensitive and responsive to cultural
differences and special needs
- Stabilization and maintenance of children with
serious disorders in their homes and communities
- Prevention of hospitalization through crisis
intervention
- Identification of factors interfering with the child
and family’s use of more traditional outpatient
services
- Improvement of quality of “fit” between child and
family to optimize developmental progress.
Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services/ Care Coordination
Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services and
family-focused, child-centered, community-based,
individualized, and culturally competent services
to children diagnosed with behavioral disorders.
Early identification and intervention are important
components. Services are provided free of charge to
eligible children under the age of 18 for an average
period of 6 months.
Intensive In-home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric
Services (IICAPS)
A program
for children and adolescents with
serious emotional disorders and their families. IICAPS
is able to work with families for up to 6 months.
Services vary in intensity from 3 to 20 hours per week. This program serves children and youth ages 3 to 18 years old with complex psychiatric disorders, children being discharged from psychiatric hospitalizaiton, and children who are at imminent risk of hospitalization.
Family Support Team
An integrated team comprised of masters level
professionals in concert with a paraprofessional
staff who provide a variety of support services. The program serves children and youth ages 3 to 19 years old with complex psychiatric and family difficulties, children returning from out of home care, children entering treatment foster care, and children at risk of out of home care. There is a broad focus encompassing psychiatric, medical, educational, vocational, rehabilitative and family systems.
Family Substance Abuse Treatment
An intensive in-home program that provides
substance abuse treatment and comprehensive
support services to adolescents with underlying
mental health issues and their families. This program serves children and youths ages 11 to 17 years old with delinquent behavior and/ or substance abouse problems.
