In fact, the Choice model is so highly respected that the Connecticut Department of Children & Family Services considers a one-year commitment to Choice as two years worth of experience in filling its case management positions. Requirements: must be a student enrolled in college or university Position Overview: Interns are expected to support our team of caseworkers, and must be willing to work in direct contact with juvenile parolees in the Greater Hartford area. Position Responsibilities: Interns begin their training shadowing caseworkers to pick up on advocacy, supervision and crisis intervention skills. Individual responsibilities vary with the level of commitment each person demonstrates, but all interns must be willing to work a minimum of 15 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible and can include nights and weekends. Benefits: Interns gain valuable work experience, and come into contact with potential future employers. Upon graduation from college, capable interns are given a decided advantage over all other applicants for Hartford Choice Caseworker positions.
