Program
Description
The Waterbury Family Center is part of the neighborhood hub system detailed in Waterbury's Bridge to Success. Responding to research which shows children need effective and nurturing families capable of offering joy and physical and emotional support, the Family Center offers programs and services designed to promote healthy child development and improve parent opportunities and skills to get them actively involved in their child's education and healthy development.
Services Provided
A flexible schedule for services is provided to accommodate both working and at-home parents. Childcare is provided while attending classes. Our list of resources available for families is as follows:
•Parent and Child Advocacy
•ESL Classes in collaboration with Waterbury Adult Education
•HUSKY/Medicaid Outreach and Enrollment
•Basic Needs programming including a Diaper Bank and Food Pantry
•Case Management Services
•Postive Parenting Workshops
•Family Literacy programming
•Cultural Events
•Parent Drop-In Center
•Use of an English/Spanish Resource Libarary
Eligibility
While
predominately catering to Waterbury families with children from birth to 21 years of age, the Waterbury Family Center does not deny anyone eligibillity..
