School Choice

Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford has partnered with the Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) to provide families with information and assistance regarding School Choice in Greater Hartford.

You have a choice about where your child attends school.

The Greater Hartford Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) offers families the power to choose a school or program outside their home district for their child to attend. More than 20,000 students from Greater Hartford are enrolled in a choice school. If you are looking for high-quality, unique public school learning opportunities for your child, then the RSCO school choice system is for you!

RSCO offers students entering Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 with a wide array of choices, including Open Choice districts, magnet schools, technical high schools, and agricultural science and technology high Schools, that meet the individual needs of students and families.

The RSCO on-time School Choice application for the 2024-25 school year runs through March 15, 2024. The extended application period is open from mid-late April through July 10, 2024.  Submitting an application during the on-time period is one of the best ways to increase the chance of a placement offer. RSCO has a dedicated website at https://fairs.rsco2.ct.gov.
