Who We Are
Catholic Charities is a non-profit agency serving people of all faiths in Hartford, Litchfield, and New Haven counties since 1920. We focus on children as our future, families as the backbone of our society, and the elderly as our link to our roots.
Reflecting God’s love, we partner with all to strengthen families and inspire people to achieve their fullest potential.
We envision a future where all individuals and families achieve greater safety, stability, and independence in compassionate communities where people are valued, connected, and take care of one another.

Consistent with our God-created human dignity, the cornerstone of our mission is the recognition that every person has basic rights as well as responsibilities. Central to our mission we are guided by these core values.
The dignity of every human life is the foundation of a moral vision for society. Empowered by support for human dignity, individuals are expected to assume relative responsibilities for their growth and development.
A basic moral test is how the most vulnerable members of our society are faring. We put the needs of the vulnerable first, and we foster hope through our service, advocacy, and community action.
We respect and celebrate the rich diversity of the human family. In all of our work, we demonstrate respect for our differences, including gender, age, race, creed, and culture.

We demonstrate our deep concern by caring for the struggles of humankind and supporting individuals as they maximize their full potential.
We pursue the highest-quality measurable outcomes in all services as we assist individuals in reaching their maximum level of self-sufficiency. We commit to using all human, material, environmental, and financial resources in a responsible and accountable manner.
In collaboration with our colleagues and partners, we demonstrate our belief in one human family, regardless of national, racial, ethnic, economic, and ideological differences. Loving our neighbors has global dimensions.
