Aspiring business owners complete program

A new group of aspiring business owners completed an Entrepreneur program on April 29 at the Asylum Hill Family Center in Hartford. The course was taught by Dianisi Torres, a Nutrition Outreach Coordinator at the University of Connecticut, and ran for 6 weeks, meeting every Tuesday and Thursday night. Torres helped students create logos, formulate marketing ideas, understand marketing principles, and craft a business plan. She also motivates them to strive for their goals and learn.

“I have so much faith and hope in you because I can actually see your business, I can see your idea,” Torres told them before each student presented the business plans they developed during the program.

A new class, which is full, will begin later this month. Anyone interested in joining a class that starts in the fall, or for more information about the program, can email aboothe(a)ccaoh.org.

Torres also teaches the class in Spanish at our Institute for the Hispanic Family on Wadsworth Street in Hartford. For information about that program, email mburgos(a)ccaoh.org.
